Trinity Site and Lincoln National Forest, New Mexico

On July 16, 1945, the U.S. exploded the worlds first atomic bomb near Alamogordo, New Mexico.

On October 1, 2009, we brought our destructive powers to Trinity Site.

This is a replica of the bomb called "Fat Man". It is very big and heavy.

This is me, Marcos and our grandpa.

The blast of the bomb was so hot that it melted the desert sand and turned it into a green glass called trinitite.

This is the entrance to Trinity Site. You can not take trinitite out of this place. I wouldn't want to anyways because my dad said that this stuff will make you glow in the dark. That sounds cool to me.

After Trinity Site we went to Lincoln National Forest in southern New Mexico. This is Bonito Lake, which means pretty lake in Spanish. Check out this same lake in our X-mas photos when it was frozen.

Me and Marcos getting ready to go on a hike.

Another view of Bonito Lake. My grandpa is going to take us fishing here in the summer.

Taking a break along the hiking trail.

Well its time to go home now. The day is over.
