Here we are in Colorado! We are on a zipline course. I'm all harnessed up and I'm ready to fly. Can't wait! The song "Tarzan Boy" goes well with these pictures. It's on our playlist. Don't forget to check out our videos.
Here I go!!!!!!!!!
Here I go!!!! Geronimo!!!!!!
This is the Animas River. We crossed this river on the zipline about eight times. It was fun. This picture was taken from one of our platforms. As you can tell we were way up in the trees.
Lets do it again!!!!!!!
This was fun! Lets go again!
We are back on the Durango Silverton train headed back to our hotel in Durango.
This was our view of the Animas River from the window of our train.
The next day our dad took us to visit an old silver mine in Silverton, Colorado. The name of the mine was The Old Hundred Mine.
Before we got to go inside of the mine, we went gold panning. We only found a few flakes of gold, too small to take home. It was fun though.
Here is the entrance to the mine. We are putting on our raincoats because they told us that water drips on you and it is also a little cold inside. You go on a little train. You can see the tracks behind me.
Well we made it! It was a bit scary in there. Marcos did not go inside. He was a little scared. Our guide was funny. He showed us how you mine for silver. I do not have pictures of inside the mine because we forgot our camera. My mom had it. Oh well, you will just have to take my word for it. Tomorrow we are going on a road called the "Million Dollar Highway." See you tomorrow!
This is Ouray, Colorado. The "Switzerland of America". This was a very scenic town in the middle of the mountains. My mom and dad really liked the buildings in this town. My dad said they are from the 1800's. The mountains here were very high and there was still snow on them.
These mountains surround Ouray. The town is already 9,000 ft above sea level so these mountains are really high!
Rocky Mountain High!
Well so long from Colorado. We have one more stop on our vacation.
Well here we are in Madrid, New Mexico. Home of "The Wild Hogs" and the "Del Fuegos" from the movie "Wild Hogs." Marcos is ready to "slap the bull." I'm ready for some trouble.
This is the only road in and out of Madrid, and the "Del Fuegos" own it.
Maggies Diner. We are going in. "There's going to be trouble" and "if it's gotta get ugly we'll give you ugly" because there's going to be a showdown.
Well looks like were gonna live. We ran the "Del Fuegos" out of Madrid. That also ends our vacation. Check out our website in August of 2010. We will have a new posting of "where in the world are Hector and Marcos." Until then "stay thirsty my friends." That was a quote from the "worlds most interesting man." Hasta la vista!
